Having spent over 35 years in practice litigating cases and counseling divorcing families, I realize the benefits to individuals and their families in settlement of cases in a nonadversarial manner through negotiation and agreement. Ending a marriage is a complicated process, both financially and emotionally. The collaborative divorce process can be significantly better at meeting the needs and goals of the parties and their children by providing the necessary resources and a more protected setting to enable them to reach a fair resolution in a more dignified, efficient and generally less expensive manner compared with traditional divorce litigation.
