Heather Sowald received her law degree from Capital University in 1979.

She is a practitioner with, and the managing partner of, the Columbus domestic relations law firm of Sowald, Sowald & Clouse, a 6-attorney law firm.

Ms. Sowald is a past President of the Ohio State Bar Association. She is a past president of the Columbus Bar Association and the Ohio Metropolitan Bar Association. She is also a past president of both the Franklin County Trial Lawyers Association and the Women Lawyers of Franklin County organization.

Ms. Sowald previously served on the Ohio Supreme Court's Task Force on Rules of Professional Conduct.  She is serving as the chair of the Columbus Bar Association's Ethic's Committee.

Ms. Sowald has been a frequent seminar presenter on the topics of domestic relations, ethics, and professionalism.  She has been named an Ohio Super Lawyer every year since 2000.
