Heather Sowald received her law degree from Capital University in 1979.

She is a practitioner with, and the managing partner of, the Columbus domestic relations law firm of Sowald, Sowald & Clouse, a 6-attorney law firm.

Ms. Sowald is the President of the Ohio State Bar Association. She is a past president of the Columbus Bar Association and the Ohio Metropolitan Bar Association. She is also a past president of both the Franklin County Trial Lawyers Association and the Women Lawyers of Franklin County organization.

Ms. Sowald is currently serving on the Ohio Supreme Court’s Task Force on Rules of Professional Conduct.

Ms. Sowald has been a frequent seminar presenter on the topics of domestic relations, ethics, and professionalism.
