Most people have never worked with an attorney. ... I can help guide you through the process.

I have practiced law for more than 30 years and focus my practice on legal matters facing all kinds of families in central Ohio. I am a 1984 graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, and am certified as a specialist in Ohio family relations law.

I work with clients who are building their families and need to secure and protect their family relationships or who need help with drafting wills or other personal planning documents. I also work with clients who face divorce or are considering dissolution and those who are working out custody or parenting issues.

When it comes to those family law challenges, I believe that ALL of my clients benefit from approaches that reduce conflict such as collaborative practice, negotiation or mediation, with litigation only as a last resort.

Service to families, whether traditional or nontraditional, is the major focus of my work. I have long been a frequent invited speaker to professional and community organizations to discuss the challenges and, more recently, the opportunities for marriage, divorce, custody, parentage and family legal planning that have developed following the Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell decision ensuring the availability of marriage to same-sex couples.

I like to make our meetings as comfortable and convenient for you as possible. We can meet in my conference room or at your home or office.
